Dr. Melissa Vayda founded the Addiction Foundation after experiencing a lifetime of loving a family member with an addiction.  Her first-hand experiences witnessing recovery attempts and relapses, navigating the healthcare system, and the expenses involved with treatment, along with the devastation and pain that is suffered by the addict and those who love him/her, served as the catalyst for this organization.  Her life-lessons are valuable resources in understanding addiction and recovery.
